As we journey from Marrakech to the Ourika Valley waterfalls, take in the lush green hillsides, charming Berber villages, and rolling landscapes. The rivers winding through the valley provide endless opportunities for stunning landscape photography.
We’ll stop at some traditional Berber villages to immerse ourselves in the local way of life. As we continue towards Setti Fatma, we’ll approach the majestic mountain passes of the Atlas range, where you’ll find several small—and some larger—waterfalls, often free from crowds.
We recommend wearing hiking boots, as we’ll embark on a short trail leading to the Setti Fatma Cascades. Don’t forget to bring swimwear and sunblock, as we might have the chance to cool off in the small pools at the base of the waterfalls. A change of clothing is also advisable, as the mist from the falls can be refreshing!
It’s wise to pack warm clothing for our visit to the communal town of Setti Fatma, where temperatures can drop, even in summer. While it’s a good idea to bring a packed lunch, you’ll also find various cafes and restaurants in some of the Berber villages along the way. Most importantly, bring your camera to capture this unforgettable experience.
The hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls will take us through the valley before we retrace our route back to Marrakech, arriving around 5:00 PM.
